This scroll sets forth how Fantasy World Generator, crafted by Windmill Tales, handles the information of those who wield it. We do not collect personal data ourselves; this document explains in detail what data is involved when you use the App, including through our advertising partner.

Any app-related data, such as preferences, generated content, saved favourites, campaigns, and journals, is stored locally on your device only and is never sent to us or any third party.
Our advertising partner, Google AdMob, may collect certain data from your device for the purpose of serving and measuring advertisements. See the Advertising section below.
The App is used to generate names, characters, places, maps, histories, and entire sessions for role-playing, world-building, and creative purposes; to store optional local preferences, favourites, campaigns, and journals; and to display advertisements that support continued development of the App.
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising platform operated by Google LLC. AdMob operates independently of us and may collect certain data from your device for the purposes of serving and measuring ads.
What AdMob may collect:
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. We do not receive a copy of it.
Personalised vs. non-personalised ads. If you are located in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, AdMob will present a consent dialog the first time you launch the App. If you consent, you will see personalised ads tailored to your interests. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalised, based only on context such as your approximate location and the App content, not on your prior interests.
You may also opt out of personalised advertising at any time through your Android device settings under Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID, or by enabling Opt out of Ads Personalisation. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland and you wish to change or withdraw the consent you previously gave for personalised advertising, you can do so at any time from within the App:

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of this third party. No other analytics, tracking, or attribution services are integrated into the App.
Your generated content, saved favourites, folders, campaigns, journals, and application preferences are stored locally on your device using standard storage provided by the Android operating system. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. When you export a PDF, text, or Markdown file, or back up your favourites, that file is written only to the location you choose on your device or to apps you explicitly share it with; it is never sent to us. If you uninstall the application, locally stored data is permanently deleted.
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share personal data, because we do not collect any. The only data processing connected to the App is performed by Google AdMob for advertising purposes, as described above and as governed by Google's own privacy policy.
If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the GDPR and equivalent local laws. Because we do not collect personal data directly, most of these rights apply primarily to data held by our advertising partner (Google). You may also exercise these rights against us at any time.

Because we do not collect or store personal data on our own systems, there is no retention period to define on our end. Local App data (favourites, preferences) remains on your device until you uninstall the App or manually clear App data. Data collected by Google AdMob is retained in accordance with Google's own retention policies.
The App is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to a third party through the App, please contact us at contact@windmilltales.com so we can assist.
Since no personal data is collected on our servers, all App data remains on your device and is protected by the standard sandboxing and security mechanisms of the Android operating system.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or third-party integrations. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will endeavour to provide notice within the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
